About Us

The EyeCare Place, Inc. has 2 locations in the Birmingham, Alabama, metro area. The EyeCare Place first opened its Center Point office in August, 2004. Then, in October, 2006, we opened our second location in Fairfield, Alabama.

The original intention was to provide recipients of Alabama Medicaid a place to go to get quality eye exams and stylish eyeglasses and for these patients to be treated with care in an efficient manner. We quickly expanded to accept BCBS, All Kids insurance, and cash.

With these goals set, we chose to have a large selection (over 100 frames) of eyeglass frames for patients to choose from. We also wanted each patient to be able to choose from any frame in our office, not to have to choose from a certain section because they have Medicaid. We also have an in-house lab in both locations. This allows us to be able to make the glasses on the day of the exam or the day the patient brings us their prescription. If we do have to order the lenses, then they are usually ready in less than 1 week.

We only use new frames so that all of our glasses are under warranty against breakage for 1 year. This means that they will be replaced at no charge when they are broken (1 time within 1 year).

At The EyeCare Place, we have a very caring staff. Our doctors are professional and have the patients’ best interest at heart. The rest of the staff also cares for the patients and helps to make their experience at The EyeCare Place a great one.

Another need that we saw was affordable eye care and eyewear for those without insurance. So, we have great prices for those who pay cash! We also have really great second pair specials for those who want to have another look or a backup pair, or a pair of prescription sunglasses.

We are filling a need in the Birmingham area and are having fun doing it. We love being at The EyeCare Place, and we want others to enjoy their time here too.
